Small Oil Series

The little blue van pauses for awhile beside the River Liffey. Different colours leap out of the water - tangerine orange, turquoise, murky green, a deep, dark, dirt, brown, white light, so vibrant, so bright.

It is a spring day where the weather goes through the motions of every season. Afew minutes of heavy, lashing rain from dark black clouds follows dazzling sunshine and the bluest of skies.

The little blue van pauses for awhile beside the River Liffey. Its body is still warm from the sun which enveloped it a moment ago. Pedestrians walk or cycle by, at city speed. No time to stop, or think, or pause. But the tourists, like driftwood in the eddies stop and look, taking in fresh views, photographing memories to be, for when they get home. They lean over the Bridge near Chancery Place - looking upstream, looking downstream towards the Guinness Factory and beyond.

And the cars from Wood Quay turn on to the bridge, and wait for the traffic lights to change. Red, amber, green...

The little blue van goes too, carrying straight along the river, continuing on its journey.
