Yes, the Lovebird flies

And far, far below we mortals lie

What does she see through her heart shaped eyes?

What does she feel while she glides through the sky?

And why are you wounded, oh Lovebird, why?

How can she sing?

I'm still on my journey the Lovebird sings

And so I continue on my flight path whatever it brings

I've loved and I've lost in a number of ways

And the joy that love brings is matched by the pain

And the pain can be deep and cut like a knife

And the joy can be dazzling and fill you with life

This broken wing is a wound from a broken heart which is too heavy to carry

But soon soft feathers will grow again

I simply follow my path
